Care after Combat

"I would like to take this opportunity to thank you for the kindness of heart you showed me the first day we met in prison. I felt a big burden had been taken away from me when you said that you would help me through this, and you definitely did. I have looked up to you on this journey I have taken. I want to take this opportunity and thank every each one of you at Care After Combat Newark for being there for me when nobody else cared in my times of struggle."

"Dear Mr Davidson, my name is ... and I have recently been released from H.M.P Standford Hill. Having served in the Royal Marines for 6yrs, I was made aware and encouraged to engage in the charity Care After Combat. I cannot begin to define how pleased and grateful I am with the help and support I received from your organisation. In particular Mr Graham Doughty.

I would like to commend his efforts and relentless determination to help and assist me in every aspect of my release. He has been instrumental in a number of pressing issues I had to deal with. As well as assisting me in getting back to work. Since my release he has also been in constant contact with myself and has made himself known to my probation officer. Care After Combat should be proud to have Mr Doughty as part of their team. It was a joy for me to work with such a dedicated and caring person. Thank you for all your efforts and help."

"I am indebted to the work of Care after Combat and in particular the efforts Graham Doughty who as been an incredible source of support and information.

I have had help with useful signposts to people and places that I might not have found or become aware of, had it not been for Graham's intervention.

I am also really grateful that during my initial early days after being released from prison Graham took the time to come to Probation appointments with me and also to just sit and have a coffee to ask me how I was doing. You can't buy that kind of care and I really appreciate it. I have been made to feel that I am valued, not just because of my past service, but also just on a human level and that means so much.

Thank you Care after Combat and grateful thanks to Graham too."
