Simon Weston CBE
Cdr Stephen Anderson RN

Stephen left a 10 year career in the construction industry to join the Royal Navy in 1998 for a life-long desire to fly helicopters.

Gaining his wings in 2000 he has seen service on the front line flying from Frigates and Destroyers to support operations in Afghanistan, into Iraq in 2003, Counter-Drug operations in the Caribbean, and Counter-Terrorism operations in the Mediterranean and Middle East.

Selling his soul to the “dark-side”, he left the cockpit in 2006, and as a “core” Warfare Officer has patrolled the Falkland Islands, supported Counter-Terrorism activity in the Far East, was second in Command of HMS DAUNTLESS for her maiden deployment, and has most recently Commanded the Type 23 Frigate, HMS SUTHERLAND, who remain a key affiliate of the Charity.
Married to Kelly, they are both passionate about helping Care after Combat maintain the focus and attention that the charity absolutely deserves.

Gillie Lamprell
Vice President

Gillian Lamprell has lived in Dubai in the United Arab Emirates for the last 38 years. She initially helped her husband Steven set up an oilfield service company then went on to raise funds for physically and mentally challenged children in Dubai in one of the first centres of its kind in the U.A.E.

She and her husband have known Jim Davidson for the last twenty years and supported him when he set up the British Forces Foundation and continue to do so now with his Care after Combat charity.

Despite being away from the hub of the work for Care after Combat, we will continue to help in any way possible. “A Soldiers life is full of fear, a missing limb so very clear; but spare a thought for those as well, whose minds are full of living hell.”

Steven Lamprell
Vice President

Having lived in Dubai for 38 years it is always a pleasure to have the opportunity to support worthwhile Charities and Care after Combat is no exception.

Physical damage to our armed forces although devastating can be recognised and treated but stress and mental fatigue are far less visible to detect but just as catastrophic to the long term wellbeing of the sufferer. Our troops deserve whatever help they can get after dedicating their lives to the safety of others.

Life President

Some say that he comes from the North. That he rode with the chosen one.

They say he dropped from the sky… on many occasions. That he has fought many battles. They say that a mention of his name causes panic among bad guys, for he is armed with two God given weapons. Truth and Love.
Some say that he wears no medals but has been given many. There is talk he has two MCs, one of which he rides.
They say there is no fight that he will not win in the name of justice. They say that many owe their lives to this man.
He now faces a new challenge, one that he takes on with great enthusiasm and devotion. They say that he lives to help others and will take no rest until he has.
Some say he has many names. We say we are proud to call him our Life President, they call him… Goose.
